CellFixx Cell Phone Repair Vancouver

Camera and DSLR repair in Vancouver

Shutter, sensor, lens mount, screen or power — bring the body in to any of our five Lower Mainland stores, or tell us what it is doing and we will often narrow it down over the phone. The diagnosis is free and the price is confirmed before anything is opened.

Where the fault lives

Tell us what the camera is doing

Camera faults look alike from the outside and are rarely the same repair underneath. Five faults, five parts of the same body — and a free diagnosis to say which.

A full-frame DSLR body photographed head-on, used here to locate the five faults we see most

One body shown for reference. The same five parts, on Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony.

  • Shutter & mirror

The shutter sticks, fires blank, or will not fire

Shutter mechanism and mirror assembly, and whether the count is near end-of-life.

A shutter that is worn rather than jammed is a different job and a different price — the diagnosis tells us which.

  • Sensor

Spots or marks on every photo, at every aperture

The sensor and the mirror box, to find whether the marks are on the sensor or the optics.

Marks in the same place on every frame point at the sensor; marks that move do not.

  • Lens mount

The lens will not seat, lock, or communicate

The lens mount, its contacts and the mount ring for play or damage.

We service the mount on the body. Repairs inside a lens are a separate trade — we will tell you plainly if that is what yours needs.

  • Rear screen · on the reverse

The rear screen is cracked, dark, or showing nothing

The screen, its ribbon cable, and the connection into the main board.

A dark screen is often the cable rather than the panel, which is the cheaper of the two.

  • Battery & power

It will not power on, or dies with a charged battery

Battery contacts, the power circuit and the board for corrosion or a failed component.

Power faults range from a contact clean to board-level work, so this one is never quoted blind.

What a camera repair costs

A camera is not a phone: the same symptom can be a ten-minute contact clean or a board-level repair, and the part costs differ by an order of magnitude between bodies. So we do not publish a flat figure we would have to walk back at the counter. You get the exact price after the free diagnosis, and nothing is opened until you have agreed to it.

Camera repair cost
Quoted after the free diagnosis. What drives it is which part failed, not which body you own.
How much to fix a camera shutter
Depends on whether the shutter is jammed or worn out — those are different jobs. The diagnosis tells us which before you commit.
Camera sensor repair price
We check whether the marks are on the sensor or the optics first; the answer changes the work and the price.
Camera screen replacement cost
Often the ribbon cable rather than the panel, which is the cheaper of the two. We confirm which before quoting.
Is the diagnosis free?
Yes — including if you decide not to go ahead with the repair.

Five stores across Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond and Coquitlam. Bring the body, the battery and the lens you were using.
